Rieth-Riley had a curb crew that poured curb at the northeast corner of the Chippewa and Main intersection. They also poured the curb for the island in that section of the intersection.

Ziolkowski poured the roundabout walls in the morning and will begin stripping formwork tomorrow.

Fine grading was completed for the island that will be located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Chippewa and Main. 

Rieth-Riley had a curb crew that began laying curb at the northeast corner of the intersection of Chippewa and Main. 

Martell installed a signal pole at the southeast corner of Michigan and Donmoyer and installed a signal pole foundation at the southwest corner of Main and Chippewa. They also took down the mast arm at the northeast corner of Main and Chippewa.

Another Rieth-RIley crew was prepping (milling) the east side of Main north of Chippewa for asphalt.

Zowlkowski worked on forming the walls to the round about, the walls are scheduled to be poured tomorrow.

Rieth-Riley was on site installing an elbow in the water Main on the north side of Chippewa east of Main to allow for the storm pipe to be installed per plan. They then installed the storm pipe to connect structures 62 and 64.

Martell was on site setting the School Zone signs.

Ziolkowski continued setting forms for the concrete walls in the center of the roundabout. 

Indiana Earth was on site to excavate the area needed to make the elbow in the water main.

Indiana earth was on site and do the duck under for the 12 inch main and the storm sewer conflict. They where unable to get the work done due to the water main not shutting down tight. They did not bring pumps along to handle the water.

Martel placed the foundations for the strain poles on the south east and North east corners of Chippewa and Main street.

     The upcoming week will see lane restrictions during the day on Main Street and Michigan from Bronson to Sample for Paving and Milling. Jefferson Street is to be Reopened Monday once the asphalt is placed.

Utility Relocation Issues:

Robert Henry

                                Robert Henry will look at the vault at Marion and Michigan once the meeting is over to determine how and when to do the work. They will be coordinating with Tony on the casting adjustments in the parking areas as needed. They will need to do lane restrictions on Monroe and Main to place a new vault. They will be completed with the work on LaSalle between Michigan and Main by the end of next week 8-27-16.

NIPSCO/InfraSource:   

                Nipsco has the gas line south of Bronson on Main lowered. They have the untoneable between Bronson and Sample on Main located. They are working on the gas valve at Bartlett that is buried under the sidewalk, that work should be complete by weeks end.

Comcast: 

      Comcast is looking into lowering the vault at Chippewa and Michigan North east Corner.

                AT&T: 

                      AT& T has a vault in the sidewalk north of Navarre that Tony is meeting with AT&T to get lowered

Water Dept.: 

                      The water dept, is working on adjusting castings to grade. They are also assisting in the

                12 in. water main duck under at Chippewa and Main.

Transpo:  No Issues

Metronet:    

     Metronet will be removing the downtown WIFI on Sept 9^th if necessary as Pemberton Davis relocates stop lights that the WIFI is connected to. Pemberton Davis will be installing a new conduit on the East side of Main to support future Metronet. Metronet also requested at their expense a new conduit on the west side of Main from LaSalle to Marion. Metronet needs to get the line at LaSalle and Main North East corner relocated to the new handhole Pemberton Davis set.

INDOT: Questions

     INDOT questioned the asphalt paving and coordination with testing. That is happening.

Memorial

      The stop sign at Main and Bartlett had been knocked down. Pemberton Davis will fix it. Larry has not seen the revised landscape plans with the hospital signs incorporated. He reminded me of the tree on LaSalle that needs replaced. Larry was also concerned about pedestrian traffic at Bartlett and Michigan. He would also like for the cross walk Marion be cleaned.

JMS

     JMS will get Main St back to multiple lanes as soon as they get asphalt base to patch water line cut. They will have the vault backfilled the first of next week. They need to make sure they get passing density test.

Marriott

       They would like to use the lane that is closed off for storage until Reith Riley plans to bee in that area working on Saint Joe. They also would like the light signal foundation to be removed as soon as possible.

Action Item

1           Palmer down spout drains

It has been determined that the Palmer down spouts are causing the washout at the Northeast corner of Chippewa and Michigan. Reith riley will get the vactor truck in and do some more investigation to determine options. Toy is also going to communicate with Palmer.

2           Controller Cabinet Change Order

Structure Point is still working on getting the rest of the information Pemberton Davis needs. Once that information is obtained Pemberton Davis can get a price and order the material. The material will have at least a 8 week lead time.

3           Crosswalks on Side Streets

Reith Riley will try to get the cross walks back in as quickly as possible.

4           Clean up down town area

Reith riley will be working on clean up in the coming week.

6      Saigon Drive/cutting short

                      Due to the lack of curb heigth the owners of Saigon Market are worried about customers cutting the entrance short and driving into the new fence that is planned. One option suggested was placing a planter to deter drives. Myron will discuss this with Kevin.

               

7      Weeds on Bartlett

        Reith Riley is aware of the issue and will be addressing it shortly.

Michigan road will have lane restrictions north of Bartlett to Angela Boulevard during the resurfacing operations, which should be completed by Wednesday. Main Street will have lane restrictions from Bronson to Sample Monday thru Thursday of next week for resurfacing. Metro Net has completed their work at Jefferson and Main Reith Riley will have the intersection opened by Monday.   

Utility Relocation Issues:

Robert Henry:

     Robert Henry will be working on Main Street between Monroe and South Street on the east side, should be done by next week. They also have work on east Washington that should wrap up next week. Robert Henry will adjust the structure at the North East corner of Michigan and Marion as soon as Reith Riley gets grade stakes set.

NIPSCO/InfraSource:   

     Nipsco is working on lowering the gas line south of Bronson, which should be completed today.

            

Comcast:

     Comcast emailed that they will be contacting Tony for Reith riley about the work on Marion east of Michigan.

Water Dept.: 

     The water Department is working on adjusting castings on Main Street, they are complete from Marion to Wayne. They are going to go down and work from Sample to Bronson next to accommodate Reith Riley’s paving. They are also going to go to Chippewa on Monday and relocate a fire hydrant at the Northeast corner of Main and Chippewa.  The water department requested that the sidewalk in front of the office on Main and Colfax have the sidewalk poured back as soon as possible.

Transpo: Had no issues

Metronet:  

                     Metro Net and the City have an agreement to remove the WIFI for the downtown area. Before removals of the traffic signals, start that the Wi-Fi is connected to Metro Net will need a couple days’ notice. Metro Net also so requested that a new conduit be run from LaSalle to Marion due to the quality of the current conduit.

INDOT: Questions

     INDOT requested an update of the traffic restrictions. The three round-about’s will be open on Sept 7^th. Main from LaSalle to Western will be completed by Oct 15^th. Saint Joe from Western to LaSalle will be completed Nov 15^th.

Stakeholder Questions:

      The new landscape plans were presented to Memorial Hospital. Larry requested that the plans be revised to consider the Hospitals new signage, as to not have the trees block the signs. He had concerns about the public access points to the Hospital when would they be complete. He also had concerns about the traffic control associated with the milling operation between Bartlett and North Shore.

Action Items

     Schedule

           The upcoming week Reith riley will pave from Marion to Angela. They will move down and pave from Bronson to Sample on Wednesday. They will have a concrete crew finishing the sidewalk at the Bartlett street intersection. Then move to the truck apron concrete.  The curb crews will be in and work in the downtown are on Tuesday. Another concrete crew will be working on the cycle track and sidewalk from Marion to LaSalle. Indiana earth will be working on preparing the grade between the sidewalk and the curb in the downtown area on Main Street from Colfax to Wayne. Indian earth will also finish setting grade on Main Street from South Street to Bronson once that is complete Reith Riley will place the subgrade treatment.

 

    1 Work on Saint Joe/ Monroe/ Western

            Pemberton Davis still has traffic signal work to do. Roger requests temporary sidewalks be placed since the sidewalks have been removed for 2 months.

  

    2. Entrance to 5^th/ 3^rd Bank

             Reith Riley will work on making sure the subs do not block both entrance to the bank.

     3. Strain Pole Change order

              Should be signed and on Toys deck by Monday

     4. Crosswalks on side streets

               Crosswalks on the side streets needs to be kept up for pedestrians. Reith riley will have a                                   crew on Saturday work on some of them.

      5. Work on the East side of Main/ Parking Garages

            Reith Riley and the City will meet on site Monday to go over access and egress from the parking garage at Colfax.

     

                                         

Reith Riley Construction Concerns/Questions:

     

1.       Reith Riley is concerned the overhead structure South of LaSalle will fall into the cycle path. Once it is laid out, the City will have to determine what to do.

2.       The Pave drain mats will leave a void at the header or the curb. The solution is to add another half bock to one side. This will result in the header being reduced by 6 inches.

City Concerns/Questions:

  

The City stressed getting the drives and crosswalks in for pedestrian traffic can flow in the downtown. The lack in activity in the downtown area over the last few weeks has caused the public to become frustrated.
